Meiringen-Hasliberg is a well-known swiss ski resort, perfect for families and skiers of all abilities.
When snow is plentiful, you can ski or sledge to the front door, otherwise the main ski lift is a short 300m walk from the apartment.
There is a cable car service to and from Meiringen from Reuti. This runs from around 6am to 8pm during the winter (but please double check these times when you are in the resort as the time of the last cable car up the mountain can vary). Provided there is sufficient snow, there is a sledging track all the way down to Meiringen from Reuti which makes for a great apres ski activity. Depending on how gung ho you are, it takes between 20 and 40 minutes to sledge down to the town. And a little longer to walk back up if you miss the last cable car!
From Reuti there are 8 person gondolas up to the higher ski area. They run from 9am until the slopes close.
Ski passes and piste maps can be obtained from the cable car station at Reuti.
Ski equipment can be hired from the shop opposite the cable car station - the quality of equipment here is very good. There is also a hire shop in Twing / Wasserwendi and another in Meiringen.
There are three restaurants within a few minutes walk of the apartment - Hotel Reuti, Hotel Victoria and Restaurant Ritter Stuebli. All three do traditional swiss food - filling but not terribly cheap!
The village shop is a few minutes walk down the road. It has just about everything you need although it's closed on thursday afternoons and on sundays. Larger shops are available in Twing / Wasserwendi and in Meiringen.
